The School District of West Allis-West Milwaukee is currently seeking a Principal for Mitchell Elementary School.   This is a 12-month Administrative position.

The principal is the primary leader and learner in the school.   They build community among students and model how to empower students so they are leaders in their own learning.  The principal aligns decisions and actions with the district strategic plan and the local school improvement plan.  They will provide leadership focused on promoting and maintaining an educational environment conducive to learning for all students. The principal provides instructional leadership; is responsible for curriculum implementation; and the evaluation and supervision of all staff members assigned to the building.    The principal administers the school in accordance with the policies of the Board of Education. The principal is responsible for all school activities and building operations. They assure that appropriate standards for behavior are enforced for students and staff in the building and at all school-sponsored events.   They are responsible for the in-service of all staff within the building. The principal is responsible for the academic, personal, and social development of all students and for supervising all activities of the school.

The above tasks and/or duties are not all inclusive and other duties may be assigned.  

Requirements

Qualifications include:
1.   Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
2.   Must meet requirements for licensure from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction - have or be able to obtain a Principal license #5051
3.   Proficient writer and speaker.
4.   Evidenced success in areas of community engagement and staff relations.
5.   Ability to give a long-term focus, development and leadership in a curricular area.
6.   Experience implementing the Deeper Learning competencies
7.   Project-based Learning experience preferred
8.   Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
9.   Other qualifications as approved by the Board.
