Description
Position Summary:
The Assistant Director of Student Services focuses on student wellness. This position shall have district-wide responsibility for the development, coordination and evaluation of all programs and services included in the student services department. Such programs and services include: health services, school counseling, psychological services, social work services, homebound instruction, school-based mental health services and the direction and responsibility for social-emotional learning curriculum as well as professional development specific to our Whole Child professional learning pathway.
Essential Job Functions:
Plan, implement, and oversee effective student services programming that is aligned to district goals; district policies; and state laws, federal laws, and regulations.
Lead programs including, but are not limited to: School Counseling, School-Based Mental Health, Homelessness, Foster Care, School Nursing Services, 504 Accommodations, Be A Champion Mentor Program, trauma sensitive schools, restorative practices, Student Assistance Program, and Social-Emotional Learning.
Collaborate effectively with District Office administrators and attend DO Team meetings as well as Administrator Team meetings.
Collaborate effectively with building principals on the selection and placement of qualified student services staff.
Develop and oversee professional development for the district that aligns with our Whole Child professional learning pathway.
Serve as a resource to students, families, staff, administrators, and the Board.
Support student services personnel and building administrative teams in culturally responsive problem-solving and advocate for an equitable multi-level systems of support.
Facilitate advisory hoc committees and prepare routine and ad hoc reports as assigned.
Coordinate district reunification.
Lead district Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management protocols and support teams conducting threat assessments.
Write and oversee grants.
Serve on District committees and task forces as assigned
Facilitate or assist in facilitating student services team meetings
Serve as LEA and/or attend IEP and/or 504 and related meetings
Serve on Oregon Area Food Pantry Board and/or be a liaison with other community organizations as assigned by the District Superintendent
Serve as the Section 504 Coordinator
Serve as Title IX Coordinator or Investigator
Assist with other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
1. Education: Masters degree in Educational Administration or a related field is required. A valid Wisconsin Director of Pupil Services license is required.
2. Experience: Requires evidence of prior successful teaching, student services or administration experience. Demonstrates a sufficient level of knowledge in the field of student wellness, curriculum, budgeting and programming.
3. Availability to collaborate with others, highly organized, excellent communication skills, and a strong background in time management
4. Student-centered with a focus on educational equity and whole child.

The candidate must actively support the mission, vision and values of the Oregon School District and be the lead in working with staff, students and the community to share and promote the accomplishment of those goals and objectives. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all District requirements and Oregon School Board policies.
